Instant Induction Hypnosis?
Okay, well I first started becoming interested when I watched Keith Barry's videos. Then it progressed to Sean Michael Andrew, Derren Brown, and all these other hypnotists and the instant induction was simply amazing. And of course, the more humorous stage hypnotists like Sailesh.
I've done a bit of research and everything sounds fairly simple to do. I have yet to actually try it on someone. But for people who have actually tried it or had it done to them, could you tell me if it really works?
For those who've done it to others, how much practice would I need? Also, if there are any helpful websites, that would be greatly appreciated :] I'm only 16 by the way.
I have tried some techniques with people who are extremely difficult and I have had mixed results. Most of the people in the videos and on stage are people who are already interested in being hypnotized. Hypnotism will not work on people who have problems with hypnosis in the first place because it is a matter of redirecting a person's attention and some people are hypervigilant. Hypnosis can be an effective tool and should not be used by untrained people. I do not believe there is a danger, but it can have serious effects on people's lives for awhile, especially if they are unprepared and they are allowed to go off with others who do not relaize they are influenced by hypnosis. People who like to "play" with these techniques are, I consider, dangerous people.
