Does Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, use collective hypnotism?
Sometimes he says some pretty weird things and everybody believes in what he says like if it was "the law". He talked about an iPhone (which they don't even have the name yet) that has less features that some Motorola phones now and costs twice as much but even so the press follows him religiously. Now with the music thing too. Why?
It's been that way since the 80's. (Remember the Trash-80 anyone??) Image promotes the product. Apple is very protective of what anyone says about the company and often threatens litigation.
I think that many of their products are of good quality but understand what you are saying. Many Apple enthusiasts will believe anything that comes out of Cupertino. As far as the iPhones are concerned, I hear that Apple has a lot of control in the contract with Cingular. If things go bad, Apple will point the finger at them.
